Sometimes I get so frustrated with myself. I have been trying to start and run a successful work at home business for most of my life and although I am not a loser, I am still unhappy with my success.
It all started over 40 years ago with my Grandma. She was my inspiration for trying to start an in-home-business and make some extra money. She sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry, Shaklee Vitamins, Amway products, Stuart McGuire shoes, Tupperware, Avon, etc., etc.
She just wanted to make some extra money to help out the people she loved the most... her family, and maybe have some fun money to do some special things in life for herself. But unfortunely she never did find that one thing that would skyrocket her into success. Instead she died broke and deeply in debt with nothing but wonderful memories to leave those of us she left behind. But I know she wanted so much more out of life.
I have followed her down that same path, trying to find that one thing that will allow me to make some good income and help out my family as well as offer me some freedom in return. I don't want to be filthy rich, I just want to be able to enjoy life a little bit more. Most people that I meet with money make my stomach turn, they just don't have a clue what it's like to struggle. Not all of them are this way, but a good enough share of them are. I really don't care for how some people with money act, some, not all, think that they are so much better than those of us who don't have hoards of money, when in truth, we are all the same, it's just that some are luckier than others or they are born into it. I don't know if it's fate, destiny or just the limits of our capabilites that prevent some of us from being successful, especially if we put in the extra effort.
I also don't feel sorry for the person who has nothing and doesn't try to better themselves or thinks that the world owes them their fortune in gold. I believe in working hard for what you have and being rewarded for your hard work. I don't care for lazy people. But it does get frustrating when you work so hard to accomplish something only to have it fail. That takes a lot of wind out of your sail.
All I am wanting to achieve in life is to be able to pay my bills without having to worry about them from week to week, and to do some special things with my family once in a while without going into debt even more than I am. I believe that I am a very hard working person, I don't miss a day of work unless I am deathly ill, and in my time off from my day job, I am usually working even harder at home trying to get a business established and attempt to make some extra income.
I have tried everything out there and made a little bit of money here and there but just can't seem to make anything work like those who are so successful. I have spent so much time and money on every work at home product and scheme that is available on the market today and the only ones making any money from those ideas are the ones that are selling them. I don't want to be the one selling someone an idea that doesn't work, just to make some money. I want to have an online business that I can be proud of, not some off the wall scheme that allows you to fool somebody into sending you money. That is not for me.
One thing I have learned from all of the different things I have tried is that you can never give up, you must keep looking for the answer. It is way to easy to throw up your hands and walk away from your problems and I can't let myself do that. I don't know what it is inside me that keeps moving me forward and telling me to keep on trying and not give up. I have to keep looking for the answer and I will find it or die knowing that I at least gave it my best effort.
I have so much information in my head from years and years of research, and that is the frustrating part of the whole deal. I know how to succeed, I have the tools, the connections, the knowledge, and the motivation, but I just can't seem to get it all together enough to reach the goal that I am trying to achieve. I have made some money doing some different types of projects in my life, but again, not enough to be a success. Just enough to feed my addiction to all of it and make me keep looking for the answer.
I am not looking for sympathy, new business ideas or any other method of making extra money. I have what I need, I just want a place to vent once in awhile as well as offer others who feel the same way as I do a place to let it all out. Please feel free to respond to this blog and let me know your feelings about your success or the lack of. All comments are appreciated, negative and positive.
